September 1, 2026 State Primary Election

G.L.c. 58 S. 33 requires that primary ballots for each party be of different colors. Last Day to Register to Vote

The last day to register to vote for the September 1, 2026 State Primary Election is Saturday, August 22. The Town Clerk Office will be open from 9am to 5pm.

Early Voting

Early Voting for the State Primary Election will be held at Bernardston Town Hall, 38 Church St. at the following times:

  • Saturday, August 22: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Monday, August 24: 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 26: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Voting by Mail

Vote-by-mail applications were mailed by the state to all registered voters in mid-July. To vote by mail, complete the form, return your postcard by mail or in person at our office or drop box outside of Town Hall.  You must return your application to the Town Clerk Office by August 25th to receive a Primary Election ballot by mail.  You can access more information and apply to vote by mail online here
