School Committees

A school committee is the governing body that oversees a town’s public schools and represents community interests in education. It sets policies, approves the budget, and hires and evaluates the superintendent. The committee focuses on long-term goals and ensures schools meet legal and academic standards. It also serves as a link between the community and the school system, gathering input and sharing decisions.

Bernardston currently has representatives on the Pioneer Valley Regional School District Committee and the Franklin County Technical School Committee.
